Commonwealth Bank customers are fuming as online services FAIL leaving hundreds without access to their money

An unexpected outage left hundreds of Commonwealth Bank customers without access to their money on Friday night.

Customers are spamming the bank with angry messages on social media after discovering they were unable to log into online banking.

An error message began cropping up for people trying to use the Netbank App and Website at around 6pm on Friday. 

‘Error, we are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later or call us on 13 21 21,’ the message read.

Others claimed they weren’t able to use their bank cards. 

Commbank confirmed it was investigating the issue in a post on Twitter.

‘We’re aware some customers may be having difficulty accessing our services. We are urgently investigating and apologise for the inconvenience to your Friday evening. We will continue to update you here,’ Commbank wrote.

The bank suggested the error had been resolved an hour later, but not in time for some residents needing access to their cash in Victoria.

‘I had to pay for my food im in Victoria. we are in curfew it’s already 7:35pm I can not pay I can’t use atm what should I do. If I’ll not get food my gonna girlfriend kill me or if I stay here I’ll get 1652$ fine for breaching curfew rules,’ one man wrote.

‘Curfew here in Victoria starts in 30 mins and I have no way to pay for food nor have any food in the fridge… Omg this is not good!!’ another wrote. 

The bank advised customers to contact their customer service number if they continued to experience issues.  

‘Services are starting to return to normal as we urgently work to resolve this issue. We’re sorry to have interrupted your Friday evening. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact us, or drop us a direct message here on social,’ Commbank wrote.
