Commonwealth Games organisers ‘pitch for Margot Robbie’

The Commonwealth Games’ Opening Ceremony will kick off on Wednesday.

And according to Monday’s The Courier-Mail, organisers ‘have made a secret pitch’ to Margot Robbie, ‘to play a leading role’.

The reports come after songstress Delta Goodrem was confirmed. 

Will she? The Courier-Mail has reported on Monday, that Commonwealth Games organisers ‘pitched for Margot Robbie’ to play a starring role during the opening ceremony 

The Courier-Mail claims that organisers are hoping Margot, 27, will be one of the six celebrities to run with the baton, prior to it being handed over to Prince Charles. 

Margot, along with Miranda Kerr, Greg Norman and Keith Urban, are also believed to have been invited as VIP spectators throughout the duration of the games.

Daily Mail Australia have reached out to Margot’s management for comment.

Last Wednesday The Gold Coast Bulletin revealed that Delta Goodrem is set to perform at the Opening Ceremony. 

The 33-year-old will perform in front of a 35 000-strong crowd.

Among the high-profile guests set to attend the Opening Ceremony are Prince Charles and his wife Camilla as well as Prince Edward, who is the Commonwealth Games Federation vice-patron.

Also rumoured to make an appearance are Chris Hemsworth and Mick Fanning, according to the Gold Coast Bulletin.  

The Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony will kick off this Wednesday night at the Gold Coast’s Carrara Stadium.

71 Commonwealth nations and territories will make history as they compete on the Gold Coast, event cities Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville.  

Star attraction: Chris Hemsworth [pictured with wife Elsa Pataky] is also rumoured to make an appearance at this year’s Commonwealth Games
