The company behind David Beckham’s upmarket fashion venture is £18 million in debt.

Trinity Brands UK (TBUK) is the owner of Kent & Curwen, which classes itself as a ‘paragon of authentic British menswear’.

Trinity Limited is one of the largest menswear retail networks in China and also looks after international brands such as Kent & Curwen, through its UK arm TBUK.

TBUK is said to have amassed the £18 million worth of losses of the last three years.

In 2015 Beckham, 44, signed a five year global licensing agreement with Kent & Curwen and has since been the face of the brand.

As well as this he was also appointed to help design clothes and drive online sales for the fashion retailer, which has a flag ship store in London’s Covent Garden.

During London Fashion Week both David and Victoria Beckham were spotted at the Kent & Curwen show.

According to The Sun the brand has had to slash staff numbers by nearly a third and has halved salary costs to £1.8 million due to the losses.

The brand has also opened an outlet store in east London, where it has reduced items by up to 70 per cent.

As well as this an outlet page has also been introduced on the website with items such as scout-style shorts being reduced from £150 to £60.

At the start of the year the fashion house launched a Peaky Blinders collection, it included items such as a flat cap and wool overcoats.

At the time Beckham said he was a fan of the show and wanted to keep the designs authentic.

It is thought that Trinity Limited will have to give it money to keep it afloat.

While Beckham’s fashion findings seem to be struggling, his wife Victoria has also experienced issues with her own fashion label.

In 2017 it was reported that she had operating losses of £8.2 million.

Despite this brand Beckham is still estimated to be worth £800 million.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for David and Victoria Beckham.

Representatives for both Trinity Limited and Kent & Curwen were unable to be reached this morning.
