Consumer experts Choice have revealed the products you should steer clear from buying this Boxing Day.

With Australians predicted to spend a combined $20 billion in the annual sales bonanza, the experts said it pays to be mindful that if something sounds too good to be true, it possibly is.

‘Despite our enthusiasm for bargains, the reality is that this is a time where retailers often try to fob off the duds they couldn’t sell throughout the year,’ Choice expert Margaret Rafferty said on their website.

‘You can pick up a bargain, but research is everything.’

So what should you avoid when hitting the shops this year?
