Police are searching for a convict who escaped from a low-security prison farm.

Matthew Thomas Campbell was reported missing about 2.30pm Tuesday from the Townsville Correctional Centre facility in Queensland. 

The 29-year-old is currently serving one year and six months behind bars for the illegal use of a motor vehicle, Townsville Bulletin reported.

Members of the public are asked to keep an eye out for Campbell who has multiple tattoos including ‘one life one chance’ on his neck and ‘never retreat never surrender’ on his right forearm. 

A Queensland Correctional spokesman told the publication that there would be an investigation into Campbell’s escape.
