Cooper Hefner and his wife Scarlett have reunited for the first time since he left for basic military training more than two months ago after enlisting in the US Air Force.

Scarlett, 29, took to Instagram on Tuesday to celebrate the Playboy heir, 28, completing basic training by sharing images of him modeling his Air Force uniform and a shaved head while they spent Valentine’s Day weekend together.

‘Valentine’s Day was extra special this year,’ she captioned the images. ‘After more than two months apart I got to see my husband complete Air Force Basic Military Training. We had a lovely weekend together and I couldn’t be happier.’

In the first photo she shared, Cooper is decked out in his navy Air Force uniform and hat while giving her a sweet kiss on the forehead.

Other snapshots show him holding a flag while marching with his fellow recruits and posing with Scarlett in his camouflage fatigues.

The final image in the post is a picture of Scarlett at a restaurant with her husband, who is still in uniform. He is wearing a short-sleeve button-down with a navy tie, and the navy pin above his right breast pocket has his last name written in white.

Cooper shared many of the photos on his own Instagram page on Monday, but he included two other pictures that weren’t in Scarlett’s post.

In one image, he is wearing his camouflage fatigues while standing in front of a large American flag. The other shows him and two other recruits donning matching navy trench coats over their uniforms.

‘A very special weekend seeing family after a few months away from home,’ he wrote. ‘I’m proud to serve my county in the United States Air Force. I’m proud to be an Airman.’

Hundreds of people commented on the post and thanked him for his service, while Scarlett wrote: ‘I love you and I’m so proud of you.’

Cooper, who is the son of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, announced in December that he had enlisted in the US Air Force.

He is following in the footsteps of his father, who served in the U.S. Army as a noncombatant for two years at the end of World War II. Hugh was honorably discharged in 1946.

Cooper was the CEO of Playboy Enterprises, but he left in April to start his own media company, including the digital content platform HefPost, which has yet to launch.

He and Scarlett married in December after a four-year engagement. That same month, he shared on Instagram that he was stepping back from his new business venture and was headed for basic training.

‘Today I informed leadership and financiers of Stag and Hefner Media Corporation I would be stepping back from focusing on launching a new company and stepping towards greater service to community and country,’ he wrote. ‘In a week I depart for US Air Force basic training. A new road ahead.‬’

A week later, Scarlett shared a photo of herself with Cooper on the day of his enlistment ceremony in March to announce his departure.

‘Today Cooper left to begin his service in the United States Air Force. I’m incredibly proud,’ she wrote.

Cooper is one of the Playboy founder’s sons with his second wife, Kimberley Conrad. His older brother Marston is an author.

The family no longer has a business interest in Playboy nor does it have anyone running it since he left his role in April.

‘Stepping away from my executive position at Playboy Enterprises was a difficult decision to come to, though it is the right decision to make,’ he said at the time.

‘The spirit and values of our Rabbit will remain with me always, as I with it, and I look forward to continuing to provide support in a board capacity as an adviser to the company’s CEO.’

In addition to Cooper and Marston, Hugh has two older children, Christy and David, who are both in their sixties.

The four inherited his $35 million worth of shares when he died, but the estate sold them last year and no longer has any business interest in the company.

After taking over at Playboy in 2016, when his father’s health ailed, Cooper reinstated nudity on the magazine’s pages, and it was under his leadership that iconic publication put its first transgender model on the front page.
