Cops carry out welfare check on Janet Jackson’s infant son

Police were called to a California hotel late Saturday when they carried out a welfare check on Janet Jackson’s one-year-old son.

A worried Jackson phoned police in Malibu County and expressed her concern over her baby, Eissa, who was under care of her estranged husband, Wissam Al Mana, at the Nobu Hotel, Entertainment Tonight reported.

The couple’s nanny, who was also at the hotel, informed the singer that Al Mana had been behaving aggressively and said she was unsure about the child’s safety.

In a statement to ET, Jackson’s brother, Randy Jackson, said the nanny even ‘locked herself in a bathroom so she could contact Janet.’

During the welfare check, police concluded that the child was not in danger and later departed the hotel. Further information may be released this week.

Jackson, now 52, split from her multi-millionaire husband back in April 2017, months after giving birth to her first child at the age of 50.

The pop star sister of late icon Michael Jackson tied the knot to Qatari businessman Al Mana in 2012. Baby Eissa was born on January 3, 2017.

A close friend to Jackson told The Mail on Sunday at the time of the split: ‘Sadly, Janet and Wissam have decided that it wasn’t working and to go their separate ways.

‘They’re both busy people but determined to be good parents, even if they’re apart. It’s amicable and Eissa will stay with his mother, who is basing herself in London.’

When the couple married, there was speculation that the crooner had converted to Islam, fueled by her appearance in a head scarf.

There were later rumors of a split within days of her son’s birth, when she was seen in public without a wedding ring, but these were discounted at the time.

A divorce settlement could be complex and costly as the CEO Al Mana, 43, is estimated to have a fortune of around 1.07billion – at least four times Jackson’s net worth.
