Cops hit Las Vegas casino after ‘shots fired’ post-boxing

Dramatic video footage captured by DailyMail.com shows the moment chaos erupted inside a Las Vegas casino after gun shots were reported just hours after the Mayweather vs McGregor super-fight.

Revelers who had traveled to Vegas to watch the boxing dived for cover, hiding under tables and behind chairs as panic spread across the casino floor at The Cromwell hotel.

Dozens of police officers, their guns drawn, descended on the hotel fearing an ‘active shooter’ scenario.

In the footage, taken inside a bar near to the entrance of the casino at around 1.30am, hundreds of people can be seen cowering on the floor before police and hotel security instruct everyone to evacuate the building.

Officers can be heard shouting ‘Get out, get out now’, as party-goers fled. Screams and shouts can be heard as chaos ensued.

Drai’s BeachClub & Nightclub, which is on the top floor of the building, was also evacuated, with club-goers ordered to head out on to the street with their hands in the air.

Rapper Chris Brown had been due to perform at the packed-out venue before the police arrived on scene.

Hundreds of party-goers flooded out on to the Vegas strip – just a short distance away from the T-Mobile arena where the fight took place – and dozens of police cars, their sirens blaring, arrived on scene.

More armed officers arrived and entered the casino. Las Vegas’ metropolitan police department said they responded after reports of ‘shots fired’ but it later transpired that, in fact, no shots had been fired.

DailyMail.com understands that a brawl near to the entrance of the casino had broken out which led to heavy ornamental statues being knocked over – causing the loud noises which sparked the panic.

DailyMail.com also captured footage outside the venue of officers arresting a man who was seen being led away in handcuffs. It’s not clear what involvement he had in the incident.

Shortly after 2am Lt. Peter Kisfalvi said: ‘Officers cleared the building and now [are] just dealing with managing the crowd exiting the building.’
