Corbyn ally is recorded claiming that the Israeli embassy is manufacturing anti-Semitism crisis

Senior Corbyn ally is recorded claiming that the Israeli embassy and a gang of 68 rabbis and moles planted in Labour HQ are manufacturing the party’s anti-Semitism crisis

  • Peter Willsman says that Israel have planted agents in the party to damage it
  • He says embassy instructed 68 rabbis to point finger and Labour and Corbyn
  • Had diversity training for saying he won’t be ‘lectured by Jewish Trump fanatics’
  • Labour MPs and members call for him to be expelled, suspended or sacked

An ally of Jeremy Corbyn has been recorded claiming the Israeli embassy and 68 rabbis in London is behind a conspiracy to engulf Labour and its leader with anti-Semitism claims.

Peter Willsman, a member of Labour’s ruling NEC executive committee, also says that Israel have planted agents in the party with the purpose of damaging its reputation.

In a recording obtained by LBC, Mr Willsman says: ‘It’s almost certain who is behind all this anti-Semitism against Jeremy. Almost certainly, it was the Israeli embassy.

‘They caught somebody in the in the Labour Party who it turns out in an agent in the embassy.’

Last year Willsman was given ‘equalities training’ for ranting about Jews but kept his job after apologising – but the decision to keep him in the party caused mass protests.

Critic and Labour MP Owen Smith said today: ‘How on Earth is this man a member of our party, let alone our ruling executive?’

Willsman has claimed that the Israeli embassy have been orchestrating a Labour smear campaign to whip-up anti-Semitism allegations.

He said that Labour members in open warfare with the Labour leader on the issue are actually working directly and indirectly for the Jewish state.

In an extraordinary rant he said that Israeli officials had told 68 rabbis to say that anti-Semitism was ‘widespread and severe’ within the Labour Party.

The recording has led to calls for him to be suspended or expelled from the party – or quit.

Essex Labour MP Wes Streeting said: ‘Willsman should resign from the NEC and subject to disciplinary action by the Labour Party immediately.

‘Is it any wonder that the Labour Party is under investigation by the EHRC?

‘His views have been known and tolerated by those at the top of the Party for too long.’

Welsh Assembly member Alun Davies, who once sat in the NEC, agreed, saying: ‘This is absolutely the case. I witnessed it at first hand on the NEC. It is appalling.’

Today’s leaked audio was made in January in Oxford when he met the American-Israeli author Tuvia Tenenbom. He was in the UK to write a book about the British and its politics and asked Willsman if he could organise an interview with Jerem Corbyn.

He told LBC today: ‘It was shocking. It was surprising, but that’s the reality.

‘He’s a nice guy, he has a great sense of humour, he’s knowledgable. But Like Jeremy Corbyn – I met Jeremy and he’s also a nice guy, very fatherly – but they suffer from a disease of really hating the Jews.’

Last July Willsman was secretly taped ranting that ‘Jewish Trump fanatics’ invented the anti-Semitism storm engulfing Labour.

After the recording emerged he apologised – but denied there is a big problem within his party.

In an angry diatribe at a meeting of Labour’s ruling executive committee, Peter Willsman, a strong supporter of Mr Corbyn, said he was ‘amazed’ there was evidence party members hated Jews.

In the extraordinary rant he claimed ‘some of these people in the Jewish community support Trump – they are Trump fanatics and all the rest of it’ before shouting: ‘So I am not going to be lectured to by Trump fanatics making up duff information without any evidence at all.’

During the vile tirade he also questioned whether dozens of rabbis were telling the truth when they complained about allegations of anti-Semitism in Labour.
