Corgi who ‘can feel pain of others’ comforts a stranger

  • Cora the Corgi was mistreated for most of her life by her previous owners
  • Despite this she still has a lot of love to give according to her current owner
  • Owner Madison Palmer believes Cora has a sixth sense for feeling others pain
  • When Cora spotted a traveller at an airport she went over to comfort him and Madison later found he had lost his own dog the night before

This corgi managed to sniff out a stranger sat in an airport who needed some love after losing his own pet dog the night before.

Cora is a trainee therapy dog and her owner Madison Palm,  from Idaho,  believes that she has a sixth sense for feeling the pain of others.

The traveller was sat alone when Cora snuck over to him and stood at his feet while he fondly stroked her.

At first Madison thought that her dog was bothering the stranger but when she went over to collect Cora he told her the opposite.

Madison told the Dodo: ‘I asked him if she was bothering him and with a sombre face and watery eyes he said, “No, no; I lost my dog last night.”

‘He scratched behind her ears, patted her on the back and was whispering how cute she was.’

Although it appears Cora has a lot of love to give she was neglected for the most part of her life.

She was rescued aged eight from a breeder who used her to pump out 15 litters of puppies to put up for sale.

After her last litter included just one healthy dog the breeder decided that Cora wasn’t much use to her anymore.

Madison originally fostered her but instantly fell in love with Cora’s sweet nature and ended up adopting her.

She said: ‘She knows who is hurting and she knows who needs her, I’ve never questioned that.

I am blown away by her on a daily basis. Who knew a dog who was unloved for seven and a half years could have so much love to give?’
