Bruno Langley, who plays Todd Grimshaw in Coronation Street, has left the soap over claims he acted inappropriately towards a woman in a nightclub
Bruno Langley has been axed from Coronation Street as police interview him over claims he acted inappropriately towards a woman in a Manchester bar.
The 34-year-old, who plays Todd Grimshaw in the ITV soap, was ‘devastated’ following the allegations but does not know what the woman is accusing him of beyond ‘inappropriate conduct’.
The claims were made by a woman in her 30s who was at a Manchester nightclub called Band on the Wall.
A spokesman for the soap told The Sun: ‘Bruno Langley is no longer contracted to Coronation Street.’
Langley said tonight: ‘Sadly, I will no longer be working on Coronation Street. Acting on the show has been the fulfilment of a personal dream.
‘Playing the role of Todd Grimshaw since I was 17 years old has been a huge part of my life, and an absolute honour.
‘I would like to thank all of my friends who work on the show for their love, friendship and support during this extremely difficult period.
‘I will make a further statement in due course, and when I am able to do so.’
Coronation Street producers are now reshooting scenes featuring Langley, a show source told The Sun
A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman confirmed on Wednesday they were investigating a report a woman in her 30s had been sexually assaulted.

The father-of-one split from partner Victoria Roscoe in 2013 and has since spoken of how he always ‘tries to be a gentleman’ when talking to the opposite sex.
On screen, Langley plays bad boy Todd, Corrie’s first openly gay character.
But in real life he is a devoted father to Freddie, 10, his son with his ex-girlfriend.
He has previously said: ‘I love being a dad. I have him to stay as much as I can.’
