An LA comedian is claiming that ‘a lot’ of local influencers have come down with coronavirus after attending large parties in the area — but they’re keeping their illnesses a secret and potentially contributing to the further spread of the pandemic.
On several occasions over the course of the pandemic, social media posts from popular influencers have shown large groups gathering at house parties without masks or other precautions taken — and according to Elijah Daniel, 26, that careless behavior has led exactly where one might expect.
‘Warning: a lot of influencers have been confirmed to me testing positive for COVID-19 after the influencer parties, like a LOT,’ he tweeted on July 28. ‘And they aren’t saying anything & aren’t warning people they came in contact with after.’

Elijah added: ‘If you attended, get tested. yall caused an outbreak. thanks!’
His tweet has been met with outrage, with commenters complaining that ‘this infuriates me to no end’ and calling the influencers selfish.
‘The lack of regard they have for each other and everyone else is alarming and gross,’ wrote one.
‘What annoys me the most is that they literally have no excuse not to stay home??? They can work from home easily.
‘What about the thousands of people that are now unemployed?’ said another.
Social media users had already expressed frustration with these influencers when they posted about attending parties in the first place.

On several occasions since May, the Instagram Stories of influencers have revealed that many aren’t adhering to stay-at-home orders and limits on large gatherings, and have been largely behaving as if there is no pandemic at all.
Many have gathered for both indoor and outdoor parties in which no one is seen wearing a mask, and everyone is physically close together while dancing, swimming, eating, and playing games.
Such activities are major contributors to the spread of COVID-19, and critics have blasted the influencers for potentially spreading the virus.
Now, Elijah’s tweet indicates that some have, in fact, been affected — and what’s more, they aren’t warning those whom they may have infected as well.
And because they are keeping their positive tests a secret, they’ve lost an opportunity to show their many followers that ignoring social distancing protocol has consequences.

Several influencers have thrown bashes since the pandemic hit, where revelers gather together in large groups withouts masks or social distancing.
Back in May, fashion retailer Boohoo threw a sponsored party for the Gen Z influencers at the TikTok collab house Clubhouse, including Abby Rao, Daisy Keech, Charly Jordan.
Clubhouse, like other TikTok houses, are large mansions that are home to several social media influencers. It’s unclear if all of the guests at the party — and there were a lot — actually live together in the home, or if outsiders were invited.
Either way, Boohoo representatives did have to show up to coordinate the event, and staff — including food servers, decorators, and florists — were also there.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, controversial YouTuber Jake Paul hosted a day-long party at his Calabasas home.
Yet again, a large group of maskless young people gathered to drink, dance, and stand alarmingly close for photos.
Among the guests were Tana Mongeau, Bryce Hall, and Arman Izadi, all of whom partied both outside and inside in a tightly-packed crowd.
When footage made it to the news, Calabasas Mayor Alicia Weintraub told Fox 11: ‘They’re having this large party, no social distancing, no masks, it’s just a big, huge disregard for everything that everybody is trying to do to get things back to functioning.’
She also shared a plan to collaborate with law enforcement to crack down on large private events as the pandemic continues to rage on, according to Insider.
‘The City of Calabasas will be enforcing a zero-tolerance [policy] for large gatherings that defy local public health orders. I am committed to keeping our community safe and we are working with the Lost Hills Sheriff Station to ensure enforcement, she said.

Most recently, BuzzFeed reported that 24-year-old makeup artist and YouTuber Nikita Dragun threw an ‘insane’ 22nd birthday celebration for fellow YouTuber Larray in Los Angeles last week, hosting a bash in which a crowd of guests drank, danced, and otherwise partied the night away.
The group — which included James Charles, Tana Mongeau, and Charli and Dixie D’Amelio — proudly posted photos and video from the event on social media, earning the attention of critics.
Guests at the party gave followers a peek inside the Hype House, a lavish mansion inhabited by famous TikTok users, which is where the festivities were held.
Images show dressed-up influencers in trendy outfits with hair and makeup done — and hardly any at all wearing masks, even as they crowded around one another to wait in line, dance, and drink, despite the fact that it is now a statewide requirement to cover your nose and mouth whenever you are outside your home.
Some videos show partygoers not just dancing near one another, but on top of each other, giving friends lap dances and hugging for photos.
Among Hello Kitty decor, partygoers could also make use of a ping pong table and pool tables, couches, and a bar stocked with signature cocktails.
Not over: The COVID-19 pandemic is still spreading across the US, and Los Angeles is still considered at high risk
What else is going on: On Wednesday, the county documented 3,266 new cases and 64 new deaths
That’s not how it works! Some partiers (like Larray himself) may have shown up with masks, but they were off once people were inside the doors

According to BuzzFeed, one person said the house was at capacity.
Tana Mongeau shared several snaps on Instagram with Phil Shaw, while Jon Marianek, Ondreaz and Tony Lopez, and others offered peeks inside the party.
Not only did the influencers present seem unconcerned about virus, but they also had no qualms about boasting about the party on Instagram — which led to criticism from those taking the pandemic more seriously.
‘If your favorite influencers are at huge house parties during a pandemic (& are dumb enough to post it on social media)… they are bad influences. unfollow them,’ fellow Tyler Oakley,31 tweeted on July 22, before addressing the partygoers directly.
‘Hi @jamescharles, @NikitaDragun, @tanamongeau, @larrayxo, @charlidamelio, @dixiedamelio & any others who have been partying in large groups — please consider social distancing, mask wearing, & using your huge platforms to encourage responsibility during a worldwide pandemic,’ he added.
‘Not trying to drag them!’ he went on. ‘Just reaching out & hoping they feel encouraged to take everything a bit more seriously. Getting through a pandemic takes teamwork. & people look to them for guidance!’
Tyler also insisted that he hopes those at the party don’t come down with the virus.

‘They’ll likely come into contact with many vulnerable people who DO take precautions, the last thing I want to happen is for those people to be impacted by their irresponsible behavior,’ he said.
‘I want them to stay healthy, I want their people to stay healthy, I want vulnerable people they may come into contact with to stay healthy… they just need a reminder that they have the added responsibility of being role models during a crucial moment in our country.’
Larray, at least, seemed to have seen the errors of his ways and responded to Tyler.
‘I understand 100% where ur coming from & it was a dumb thing to do. I will do better & will actually take this s*** seriously. appreciate you tyler much love,’ he wrote.
Tana Mongeau — who has been at quite a few of these parties — also responded publicly on Instagram.
‘Partying/going to any social gatherings during a global pandemic was such a careless and irresponsible action on my behalf,’ she wrote.
‘I fully hold myself accountable for this + will be staying inside. Actions like that don’t deserve a platform and I want to fully apologize and be better than this.’
It is not known where her sudden remorse have repeatedly attending large parties was caused by catching the virus. However, comedian Elijah — who claims to know of which influencers have tested positive — is reportedly friends with Tana.
