A man and woman are facing multiple charges over the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on the New South Wales South Coast last year.

Officers with the child abuse and sex crimes squad began investigating in October after receiving reports a girl had been drugged, detained and sexually assaulted by a man and a woman she knew through a friend.

Officers searched a Killarney Vale property on May 22, before a 46-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested at a property in Tumbi Umbi.

The man was charged with seven sexual offences, including two counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child aged between 10 and 16, as well as detaining a person in company and assaulting a child.

The woman was charged with eight sexual offences relating to a child aged between 10 and 16, and detaining a person in company.

Police will allege in court the pair provided the girl with drugs before sexually abusing her at multiple locations over several hours on October 3.

The pair faced Newcastle Local Court last month, where the man was formally refused bail and the woman was granted strict conditional bail.

They are due to re-appear at Wyong Local Court on Tuesday.
