Shocked shoppers were confronted with a couple performing a sex act outside a popular mall in broad daylight.

The woman was seen with her head buried in her partner’s lap outside the Hervey Bay shopping centre in Queensland on Thursday.

Security officers rushed to pull the pair apart while they showed their affection for one another on a table outside the front door.

The man was seen perched on the table with his partner’s head buried in his lap, the Fraser Coast Chronicle reported.

But shoppers walked past the incident visibly shocked as parents tried to divert their children’s attention.

The centre’s security officers put the public display of affection to an end at around 6.20pm.

It is reported the couple left the centre after they were caught in the act and the police have not been involved.

One witness told the Chronicle it was ‘a very odd sight’.
