Couple turn up at a restaurant with instructions for the chef on how to cook their meal

Woman and her husband are slammed for giving chef VERY specific typed instructions on how to prepare their burgers (and of course her name is Karen!)

  • Alan and Karen, from US, turned up to restaurant with instructions for the chef
  • Penned six-step guide detailing how to prepare their burgers for take-out
  • Many slammed the couple and told them to stay home and ‘cook it themselves’

A couple have divided opinion after they turned up at a restaurant with instructions for the chef on how to cook their meal.

In the post shared to Facebook page ‘Don’t F With Your Server,’ a couple, known only as Alan and Karen, from the United States, penned a six-step guide for the professional on how to prepare their burgers which they wanted for take-out.

In the very precise note, the duo requested each part of the meal – from the buns, burger patties, vegetables, cheese, fries and sauces – to be placed in individual containers.

Alongside a snap of the note, which was reportedly shared by a staff, was a caption which read: ‘Ok, so I don’t usually post, but this I couldn’t resist… 2 guests came in today with their own printed instructions on how they wanted their food prepared. Absof***Kinglutely, Karen..’

And it wasn’t long before social media users took to the comments section to express outrage at the couple’s sheer nerve.

‘LOL!!!!! My restaurant would say no. We don’t waste to go containers on stupidity,’ commented one, while a second penned: ‘Wtf. Go to the grocery store and cook it yourself Karen.’

A third joked: ‘I’d put every single thing in a separate container, here’s your 25 boxes, Karen,’ while a fourth added: ‘So two can play at that game Karen. I have a masters dealing with your crew and I do the inventory. So when I charge her for every container she uses separately?!? She can’t say #byekaren.’

Another wrote: ‘The names say it all,’ while a further added: ‘Omfg her name really is Karen.’

Meanwhile, others took the opportunity to share their own experiences of very demanding customers.

‘I had a customer come in many years ago with a list of all his allergies and intolerances and used to bring in a can of green beans…..eat at home if you have that many,’ wrote one.

A second penned: ‘I use to have a guy that would give his server a note to give to me on how to make his Bombay up martini. Every Friday for 2 year,’ while a third revealed:

‘I had this guy that used to come in to my job and I s*** you not he printed business cards with these ridiculous modifications. To a salad.’

Others defended the couple's request and praised the instructions for being 'clear' (pictured)

However, elsewhere some defended the couple’s request and praised the instructions for being ‘clear.’

‘They are annoying, but at least they are clear, and also seem to understand that they know they are annoying “fries, of course”.

‘I wouldn’t get too bent about this, but it’s totally reasonable to charge for all the extra containers, since depending on what you’re working with each container can be pretty costly.

Another added: ”They might be travelling some distance with their food. They will probably put the meat and the fries in a thermal warming bag. I would accept the compliment that they chose your restaurant for their road trip meal.’
