A man and two young children are dead after a horror late night crash on a remote country road.

The 43-year-old man was driving a ute along Kangaroo Creek Road at Coutts Crossing, on NSW’s North Coast, at 9.30pm on Saturday when the tragic incident occurred.

NSW Police said the vehicle left the road and smashed into a tree.

The man, a 14-year-old boy and and an 11-year-old girl were found dead inside the car.

Emergency services were called to the remote country road just after the crash and forensic police have set up a crime scene.

Detectives are investigating the crash and will prepare a report for the coroner.
