Cowa-baaaa-nga dudes: The bizarre moment a sheep is seen ‘surfing’ on top of a speeding truck

  • Footage showed the truck pulled over on a highway with a sheep on the top deck
  • A motorist said the sheep looked as though it was ‘surfing’ above its friends
  • Drivers were unsure how the animal could have made its way to its high perch

A confused sheep perched atop a four-deck livestock truck has left motorists puzzled after it was spotted appearing to ‘surf’ above its fellow farm animals.

The woolly animal was captured on camera after a car passenger noticed the bizarre scene unfolding on Auckland’s southern motorway on Sunday evening.

Footage showed the truck pulled over with hazard lights on before a man believed to be the driver made his way to the back of the vehicle to inspect the situation.

Another motorist had alerted the truck driver to the strange occurrence, according to Ellerslie resident Ada Rangiwai, who caught the incident on camera.

‘We saw the sheep on top of the roof and I’m like ‘Oh my god, I have to record this, this is gold,’ she told Stuff.

Ms Rangiwai suspected the sheep must have ‘climbed on its mates’ to reach its tall position, saying it didn’t seem fazed when the car she was in passed by.

‘I don’t understand how the sheep got on the roof. There must have been a hole in the roof and it climbed on its mates,’ she said.

‘OMG hahaha Auckland motorway, comedy on a Sunday hahahaha, how did that sheep get on the roof of that truck,’ she wrote on Facebook.

The truck company, Heikell Transport, transports livestock throughout New Zealand and was contacted by Daily Mail Australia for comment.
