Creative designer turns luxury gift bags into wearable handbags using rope and just a few screws

A woman has showcased her unique creative talent for transforming luxury designer gift bags into stylish wearable goods in a series of TikTok videos.

The owner of the small business ‘winxinbear’ caught the attention of thousands online by demonstrating the unique process and incredible end result.

In one viral video that’s been watched a staggering 27.4million times, she took a Gucci gift bag, cut a rectangular frame from both sides and transformed it into a stylish bag with black handles and detailing.

The goods are not advertised as branded designer products for legal reasons and are sold as ‘DIY bag kits’ made by the customer once purchased.

The videos serve for the purpose of demonstrating how to make the bags after purchasing a kit instead of selling the bag directly to the customer with the branded logo.

The sequence of videos was flooded with comments from fans in awe of her clever talent and unique ideas. 

‘This is better than any real designer bag! I would buy all of them from her, absolutely gorgeous work,’ one person wrote.

‘I think the big brands should scoop this girl up as one of their designers, she’s brilliant,’ another added.

A third tagged a friend and said: ‘Something new, I would totally do this as a craft gift idea.’

The end result isn’t deemed to be an authentic designer product

While many were fond of the design ideas, others disagreed and considered there to be a ‘trademark issue’.

‘She may tell a million people that they aren’t real, but creating knockoffs is illegal, and using another company’s brand name giving the impression that it’s their product is a big no no,’ one person commented.

But another person responded and said: ‘Actually in her shop she sells the clear kit for YOU to create the bag you wish to wear. She does not sell the actual gift bags completed with the brand name. What you do with it is up to you.’
