Australian cricket legend Shane Warne is jetting off to Los Angeles to discuss a new movie based on his career.

The spin bowling great, 50, revealed he was in talks with a company who want to make a movie about his 2008 Indian Premier League championship run.

He said a script had already been written and he had an idea for the ‘super cool’ Hollywood star who would play him.

‘Chris Hemsworth would be good, Leonardo DiCaprio … you want someone super cool,’ he told The Herald Sun.

‘A guy has written a script about it, this company wants to shoot it, so it’s basically a Hollywood movie shot for India.

‘And they’re basing it on my story of how we put together the Royals in 2008 and they have ”Hollywood-ised” it. It’s all sorts of sex, drugs and rock “n” roll stuff.’

Warne led the Rajasthan Royals to the IPL title eleven years ago, playing the role of both captain and coach.

He is also meeting with streaming giant Netflix to make a decision on a script for a documentary called Shane.

The feature-length film was heralded as an inside look at Warne’s storied career when it was announced by Eclipse Films earlier this year.

‘The documentary will hopefully be on a Netflix or Amazon Prime. There’s some exciting ventures but it all depends how this trip goes,’ Warne said.

Earlier this month, the ex-sportsman put his poker skills on show at the first annual Australian World Poker Tour event on the Gold Coast.

He was a standout player – making it to the final handful of players before bowing out on the last day of play.
