Former cricket star Mitchell Johnson’s wife has launched an Instagram fire sale in a last ditch effort to save her struggling fashion label.

Jessica Bratich Johnson took to the social media platform to announce she would not be releasing a winter collection for her self-named label on Thursday.   

‘I like many others have been struggling a little but so in the interest of saving my business and not being one of those I’ve decided to not do a winter collection this year and re-evaluate my business for summer,’ the post read.

Meanwhile she has launched a series of fire sales marking down prices from $79 to as low as $10.

‘I will be continuing to sell my stock online and currently have nothing over $50,’ the Instagram post read.

‘This will be until stocks last and pieces are moving quick as you can pick up an overnight bag for $49.95.’ 

Mrs Bratich Johnson launched Jessica Bratich back in 2011 and has tried to crack the accessories market, though appears to have constantly struggled against the mounting threat of competitor labels and mass production.

‘I really encourage people to shop local local whenever they can and yes you maybe paying a little more for things but the things you buy won’t be mass produced, they will be original, will have been created out of a lot of hard work and will be far better quality,’ the Instagram post read. 

‘You will also find if local designers don’t survive you will no longer have access to having special pieces in your wardrobe.’

Mrs Bratich Johnson attacked a ‘throwaway culture’ and the constant desire to stay in vogue.

‘I think people have been a little bit brainwashed with (having) the same as everyone else,’ Mrs Bratich Johnson told Perth Now.

‘I remember years ago you’d say ”I really like that piece”, and you’d save up and wear that piece to death. Now it’s like I want ‘new, new, new’ all the time.’

‘Over the years doing late nights until midnight and getting up early with the kids, I’ve kind of got to the point where we’ve had all this health stuff and it’s exhausting.’
