Cringeworthy photos of Love In The Countryside’s Callum Stark

He’s the roguish farmer from the BBC reality show Love In The Countryside who ditched his attractive blonde date so that he could spend more time with the lads.

Callum Stark’s decision to stay single surprised vet Heather Sanders – but it seems she may have had a lucky escape. The Mail on Sunday can reveal that Stark, a 28-year-old Newcastle University graduate, has a habit of stripping off in public.

He was once apprehended by police after going into the ladies’ without his clothes during a night on the town. He put details of the incident on Facebook, with a friend posting a picture of him topless in a doorway as a police officer questions him.

Privately educated Stark, assistant manager at his family’s 3,200-acre farm in North Yorkshire, wrote: ‘Might have got naked and walked into the ladies toilets… the policeman didn’t see the funny side.’

In another unsavoury picture, posted six years ago, Stark posed naked apart from a strategically placed sock, and wrote: ‘Job hunting gets boring so I amuse myself in this way!’

Love In The Countryside, presented by farmer’s daughter Sara Cox on BBC2, follows the romantic fortunes of eight single country-dwellers.

Equine vet Heather, 29, picked Stark from a shortlist of three men who responded to the programme after she was featured. But in last week’s episode, she revealed that he had ended their brief romance, telling her that he ‘wanted to spend more time with his friends’.

Last night, Stark explained his naked antics, saying: ‘It’s a rugby thing really – it just comes second nature. If you’ve had a few drinks down you, then you might as well. I don’t think I’ve got a problem, if that’s what you’re wondering.’

Stark added: ‘The toilet incident was just drink and rugby banter. I don’t make a habit of it.’

He said that he had no regrets about appearing on the show, despite being portrayed as a ‘cad’ for dumping Heather.

He said: ‘I felt they were forcing me to really like Heather, but if I personally don’t think there’s anything there then I’m not going to force it as it wouldn’t be very fair. Heather is a lovely girl and I wish her all the best and everything, and I’m sorry that it didn’t work out.’

Stark added that he has since found a new girlfriend and is planning to move in with her.
