Cristiano Ronaldo and his Juventus team-mates have been putting the finishing touches to preparations for their Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

On a sunny day in Turin, Massimiliano Allegri’s side enjoyed a training session at their Continassa base.

The Italian champions play Atletico at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday night.

At one point Cristiano Ronaldo hit the deck during a training drill at the club’s base in Turin

It appeared to be a relatively relaxed session although Ronaldo took a tumble during one particular drill.

He was seen inspecting his left leg for injury but was only down momentarily.

The 34-year-old scored his 21st goal of the season in Juventus’ 3-0 win over Frosinone last Friday before being substituted and rested ahead of this week’s crucial last 16 first leg.

The Portuguese and his team-mates seemed in high spirits ahead of their flight to the Spanish capital and they have every reason to be given how this season has unfolded so far.

Ronaldo has settled in perfectly and a defence of their Serie A title now seems an inevitability.

Juventus are 13 points clear of Napoli in second and will be optimistic that this could be their year in Europe.

But Diego Simeone’s side will provide a stern examination of their credentials, particularly in the cauldron-like atmosphere of their home ground.
