Crossover rugby league star Jarryd Hayne will face a jury trial over allegations he raped a young woman he had met at a bar and took her virginity.
The former Parramatta Eels centre will have to wait until January 2020 to explain what happened in the United States when he went there to chase his dream of playing for the NFL.
Judge Lucy Koh has confirmed the 30-year-old athlete, who grew up in housing commission at Minto in Sydney’s south-west, will be facing jurors in California.
