Trump supporters heckled CNN’s White House Corespondent with boos and chants at the president’s South Carolina rally Monday night.

Jim Acosta was met with chants of ‘Go home!’ and branded ‘Fake news Jim’ by the crowd while waiting in the press area at the rally in West Columbia.

At one point, the journalist appeared live on air while a sign in the background read ‘CNN Sucks.’

The President later gave his speech where he encouraged his supporters’ behavior by once again branding the free press the ‘enemy of the people’.

Later on CNN’s The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, Acosta addressed his less-than warm welcome.

‘While we have had people come up to us and be nice. I had an elderly woman just a short while’s come up to me—she came up to me & said that we at CNN should get the f*** out of this auditorium… She turned to the crowd & whipped them up into a frenzy.’

‘We are here to do our jobs and report the news and report on this rally, and we’re not going anywhere,’ he continued.

That woman is Maria Rojas, who confronted Acosta and told him he did not respect the country.

To which Acosta responded: ‘I do respect the United States, yes I do.’

He continued: ‘I have every right to be here ma’am.’

Rojas was seen berating Acosta, pointing and swatting her arms at him while shouting ‘take him out’.

The commotion came as the crowd waited for Donald Trump to give his speech while some 2,500 packed a high school gym for the rally supporting GOP Gov. Henry McMaster.

When the president finally took the stage he enticed the already hostile crowd by gesturing to the press pool and saying, ‘look at all those fake newsers back there.’
