Shocking footage shows the moment a little boy is knocked from his feet by a rogue football flying into the crowd. 

The crowd can be seen anticipating the ball as it flies towards them at Saturday night’s North Queensland Cowboys v St George Illawarra Dragons game in Townsville.

The crowd can be heard cheering as the ball approaches but gasping in shock when the ball strikes the boy and knocks him from his seat.

Footage clearly captures the moment the ball strikes the boy in the face and sends him flying to the ground. 

After he was knocked to the ground in front of hundreds of spectators, the boy is seen rubbing his head as regains his balance

The video was shared by Facebook user Demi-Lee Rutland from Blackwater, Queensland and is titled ‘Falcon of the Year’.

There were no reports of serious injury sustained from the incident.  

The confronting footage garnered mixed reaction online, with some even taking the opportunity to take a dig at the Cowboys.   

‘How cowboys fans have felt all season,’ one user wrote. 

‘Good ol JT doing his thing!’ another added. 

The comment was referring to  Cowboys star and captain Johnathan Thurston who appears to kick the ball into the crowd while taking a conversion.
