Croydon jogger pensioner remains in coma

The family of an elderly man, who remains in a coma after collapsing while running, have been informed following a police appeal 

The family of an elderly man, who remains in a coma after collapsing while running, have been informed following a police appeal.

The 66-year-old man is thought to have suffered a heart attack while jogging in Croydon on Thursday. 

The pensioner’s identity was initially a mystery to police, who shared his image on social media and managed to track down his relatives, who have so far refused to reveal his name. 

Emergency services were called to Kendra Hall Road, Croydon, on Thursday December 21 at 11.39.

Only a single Yale key was discovered on the man.

He wore a black tracksuit and trainers suggesting he had been running before his fall.

The man remains in intensive care at a central London hospital and is in a coma. 

Detective Superintendent Jane Corrigan, said: ‘It’s very important that we identify this man as soon as possible to make his loved ones aware and to safeguard anyone he may care for.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
