‘I stepped on a used condom’: Cynthia Nixon’s Miranda tries to parent a sexually active, marijuana smoking teenage son Brady in And Just Like That… sneak peek
The latest teaser for the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That…shows Cynthia Nixon’s character Miranda Hobbes struggling to parent her teenage son Brady.
In a now-deleted sneak peek Miranda is forced to deal with the harsh realities of mothering a hormonal teen, who is sexually active and experimenting with marijuana.
‘I stepped on a used condom in Brady’s room this morning,’ Miranda tells her longtime gal pals Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) over lunch.

The nearly 30-second clip which has been circulating social media, opens with Miranda sitting at what looks to be a school function only to turn around and see her son furiously making out with a girl.
Recounting what her daily life looks like to her friends over lunch she recalls walking into Brady’s room to find a used condom on the floor which causes a prudish Charlotte to scream ‘eww.’
‘Wait…I was barefoot at the time,’ Nixon’s character continues to add prompting a double gasp and another ‘eww’ from Davis’ character.

Rebellious phase: Seemingly going through a rebellious phase on top of raging hormones, Brady is also experimenting with marijuana
The video then jumps to a voiceover of Miranda saying ‘I can’t always be the bad guy,’ while catching a rebellious Brady (played by actor Niall Cunningham) smoking marijuana.
Coming down to the lobby at what looks to be her office, she finds her high school aged son — who she shares with former love interest Steve (played by David Eigenberg) lighting up a bowl with a friend indoors.
To make her life more challenging, Miranda is not only trying to raise her hormonal teen but she is also going back to school at Columbia University.
Additionally fans have speculated based on the show’s trailer that Nixon’s character may have a queer plot line this season as she looks to grow close to her female professor.

Disgusted: Davis’ character Charlotte (who is prudish by nature) reacts with an ‘eww’ upon hearing Miranda’s discovery, which is only made worse by the fact that she was barefoot
New ballgame: The reboot follows the friends (minus Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones) navigating life in their fifties
The reboot of the beloved HBO show premieres December 9 on HBO Max and features the same cast of characters with the exception of Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones.
Chris North is set to return as Mr. Big with the late Willie Garson playing Carrie’s best friend sidekick Stanford Blatch and Eigenberg as Brady’s dad Steve.
Filming was underway when Garson tragically passed from pancreatic cancer in September but the show had already docked several scenes featuring him at that time.

And Just Like That…’s showrunner Michael Patrick King revealed that despite the absence of Samantha and Stanford they made the decision to not kill off any characters in the show.
‘Nobody’s dead,’ King told the New York Times. ‘Because it wasn’t charming’ he said of Garson’s passing. ‘And I knew that the audience would know.’
In addition to the fan-favorite players, new faces on the reboot include Sara Ramirez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker and Karen Pittman.
Back in action: The reboot of the beloved HBO show premieres December 9 on HBO Max and features some returning characters including Mr. Big, Steve, and Stanford Blatch as well as new faces; the ladies are seen filming July 2021
