Richard Basil Kevin McLean, 36, was at the train station in the Gold Coast with his children when he began chatting to a girl on December 23 last year.
He then followed the girl into the female bathroom, touched her neck and told her she was gorgeous, before wishing her a Merry Christmas.

The girl had borrowed two cigarettes from McLean by the bike rack before the attack, The Gold Coast Bulletin reported.
McLean’s lawyer Hayley Robertson told the court her client had followed her into the bathroom to say goodbye to her.
‘His intention was to say goodbye, he is devastated now by how she felt.’
McLean appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to common assault.
He was initially charged with indecent treatment of a child but that charge was downgraded.
He has been issued a $1,000 fine.
