A Medal of Honor winner and Marine Corps veteran has slammed the ‘King of Instagram’ Dan Bilzerian for filming himself running away moments after he saw a woman shot in the dead in Las Vegas.
Professional poker player Bilzerian – who tried and failed to become a Navy SEAL – constantly posts photos of himself alongside his arsenal of weapons, working out topless, or surrounded by a bevvy of Instagram models.
But Afghanistan veteran Dakota Meyer, who is married to Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol, says that when faced with real danger, Bilzerian simply ran away.
Meyer’s attack came after Bilzerian posted a video, in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, of himself fleeing the carnage at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, where he claimed to have seen a girl ‘get shot in the head’.

‘Holy f***, a girl just got shot in the f***ing head,’ he says, as he runs away. ‘This is so f***ing crazy.’
‘This is what kills me about people like you,’ Meyer wrote on Instagram, tagging Blizerian, early on Monday morning.
‘Always playing ‘operator dress up’ and so, so tough when the cameras are on.
‘A woman just got shot in the head and you are running away filming that’s not what operators do. Please stop trying to be someone your not. People are dying, you’re running away not helping them and pretending it’s worthy of a video is disgusting.
‘This is why children shouldn’t classify heroes by their followers or their photos.’
Meyer is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of Ganjgal on September 8, 2009, in Afghanistan – becoming the second youngest, living Medal of Honor recipient.

He also enjoys posting photos of himself surrounded by a bevvy of Instagram models, often in the most degrading ways
He married Bristol Palin on May 23, 2016, who he has two children with; Sailor Grace and Atlee Bay.
His Instagram post has attracted a bevy of comments agreeing with the Marine and attacking Bilzerian for running away.
‘The one time @danbilzerian had a chance to prove his worth he becomes Operator limp d**k,’ one wrote.
Another added: ‘People like DB are trash because they want to gunclub s**t but when it hits the fan those like yourself who take in the chaos while cowards like him fall to the lowest level of their Instagram training.’
Bilzerian had entered the Navy SEAL training program in 2000 but failed to graduate despite several attempts. He was reportedly dropped from the program for a ‘safety violation on the shooting range’.
He has also found himself in trouble with the police on numerous occasions.

On December 9, 2014, Bilzerian was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on bomb-making charges. Those charges were dropped but he appeared in court in February 2015, where he pleaded no contest to ‘negligently failing to extinguish a fire in the open’ and was fined $17,000.
In August 2014, Bilzerian was banned from a Miami nightclub for allegedly kicking model Vanessa Castano in the face during a brawl. Castano later filed a $1 million lawsuit against Bilzerian for her injuries.
Later that same year, Bilzerian landed himself in another legal matter when he threw porn star Janice Griffith off the roof of a house, who broke her foot when she landed on the edge of a swimming pool, as part of a Hustler photoshoot.
Bilzerian even announced a bid to run for President of the United States in 2015, but pulled out and endorsed Donald Trump later that year.
The 36-year-old, he calls himself the King of Instagram, appears to spend most of his time playing poker and posing with Insta models. He appears to have been at the music festival when the gunman opened fire.

The shooting broke out on the final night of the three-day Route 91 Harvest festival, a sold-out event attended by 22,000 and featuring top acts such as Eric Church, Sam Hunt and Jason Aldean.
At least 50 people were killed and more than 406 wounded at the mass shooting on Sunday night.
Police say the shooter was 64-year-old Stephen Craig Paddock, a resident of nearby Mesquite, Nevada, unloaded thousands of rounds on the festival taking place at Las Vegas Village from a room across the street in the Mandalay Bay Hotel at 10:08pm.
Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said that his officers breached Paddock’s room on the 32nd floor and found Paddock dead inside, among an ‘arsenal’ of 10 firearms. Lombardo said that Paddock shot himself dead.
Video footage taken just in front of the stage shows people throwing themselves to the ground as they try to hide from the hail of bullets, before running for their lives between the bursts of gunfire.
