Dalby pub fight: Lincoln Hoad left fighting for life
A man is fighting for his life after an alleged assault in the early hours of the morning with his friends ‘praying for a huge miracle’.
Lincoln Hoad, 32, was allegedly attacked outside a pub in the rural Queensland town of Dalby, 208km west of Brisbane, at 1.15am on Saturday.
A 33-year-old man from Capalaba was later charged with grievous bodily harm following the alleged assault on Cunningham Street.
The police allege that two men got into a fight before Mr Hoad was hit, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.
Emergency crews were called and he was taken to Dalby Hospital in a critical condition.

Mr Hoad, who is from Dalby, was later flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
The man charged with assaulting him will appear in Dalby Magistrates Court on Monday, September 18.
Mr Hoad’s friend Shayden Russell has launched a fundraising campaign to help support Shalika, Mr Hoad’s partner of more than a decade.
‘(They) have been together for over 14 years and there was no doubt they were each other’s soulmates,’ Ms Russell said on the GoFundMe page.
‘They had big plans for the future ahead when this tragedy happened. We are praying for a huge miracle.’
The fundraising page said Mr Hoad on life support after sustaining a severe brain bleed and that his chance of survival was minimal.
‘For those of you who were fortunate enough to meet Lincoln, (you) knew he was always there to help out, no matter who you were or what time of the day it was,’ Ms Russell said.
‘He was an outgoing, loud, funny, loveable guy … his smile was infectious and he would know how to cheer you up straight away!
‘He was always there when you needed to vent or have a chat,’ she said.
The fundraiser had already raised more than $12,000 of its $15,000 goal by Monday morning.
