A girl who filmed herself shoving her pet dog into a clothes dryer and turning it on has provoked outrage on social media.
The school student, believed to be from Dallas, Texas, performed the cruel trick live on her Instagram stories.
The girl tells her followers: ‘I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna put his a** back in the dryer. He likes that s***.’

She then picks up the Shih Tzu and forces it into the machine and turns it on while she starts screaming and laughing hysterically.
The dryer starts spinning, whizzing the poor dog around and around while the girl claps her hands in glee.
After the machine has been on for around five seconds, she opens the door and the dog can be seen being thrown about inside.
She takes it out and says to her pet, ‘I’m sorry’, while laughing.

The comments under the video show people encouraging her and laughing at the act with no one trying to prevent it.
The girl has since deleted her Instagram account after the video spread across social media sites Twitter and Reddit with many saying they had reported her to the police and PETA.
In a post retweeted more than 8,000 times, one Twitter user said: ‘Someone please call the police on this girl, some people don’t deserve dogs or pets at all. It’s complete abuse how they treat them.’
