Dame Helen Mirren, 77, makes rare appearance with husband Taylor Hackford, 78, in Cannes

Dame Helen Mirren was spotted as she stepped out with moviemaker husband Taylor Hackford in Cannes, France on Monday ahead of the annual Film Festival.

The actress, 77, cut a chic figure in a pink tailored blazer which she layered over a simple white T-shirt and figure-hugging black trousers.

Helen, who wed the director in 1997, kept her white locks back from her gorgeous face with a green headscarf and shielded her eyes behind shades. 

Slipping her feet into comfy trainers she toted her essentials for the outing in a black cross-body handbag.  

The stunner accentuated her age-defying features with a light dusting of make-up and completed the look with dainty earrings.

Meanwhile Taylor, 78, who helmed Oscar winning movie Ray, cut a casual figure in a black polo shirt which he teamed with shorts.

The couple strolled arm in arm through the historic town ahead of the Film Festival’s star-studded opening ceremony on Tuesday. 

Helen previously gushed over the quality time she and her hubby spent together ‘for the first time in 30 odd years’ during the peak of the Covid pandemic. 

She said during a 2022 appearance on The Graham Norton show: ‘For the first time in 30 odd years of marriage we sat at the table opposite each other and had dinner together every night for six months – it was fantastic, brilliant.’ 

Earlier in the day, Helen was spotted on her hotel balcony as she enjoyed views of the French Riviera. 

The iconic screen star kept things casual in a low-key outfit as she took photos of the view in front of her.

The Fast and Furious X star was seen at the five-star Hôtel Martinez dressed in a white T-shirt and sleek black trousers and a simple pair of trainers.

The Queen star wore her platinum hair loose and accessorised with a chic silver link watch on her wrist.

With her mobile phone in her hand, Dame Helen held the flip case open and was focused on capturing the best shots possible.

Other stars of Fast X include Charlize Theron, Alan Ritchman, John Cena and Tyrese Gibson were also seen leaving the hotel.

Vin Diesel, plays the role of Dominic Toretto in the cinematic series while Michelle Rodriguez plays Letty Ortiz.

Fast X will also feature previous franchise stars Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, and Scott Eastwood.

The tenth instalment also introduces newcomers Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, and Rita Moreno.

Fast X is the first part of a two-part finale to end the series.

The film is being directed by Transporter director Louis Leterrier, 49, who replaced Justin Lin, 51, after the F&F franchise veteran dropped out a week after filming began due to creative differences. 

Vin also is a producer of the sequel in addition to starring in it.

The record-breaking action films have made over $6.6 billion at the box office, with Fast X due to be released on May 19.
