Damian Lewis and Alison Mosshart confirm their romance as they cosy up at private members’ club bash

Damian Lewis and Alison Mosshart confirmed their romance as they cosied up together at private members’ club The House of KOKO’s summer party on Wednesday.

The Homeland actor, 51, and the American rocker, 43, have now been pictured together four times in two weeks during a variety of high-profile outings.

Damian’s new romance comes 14 months after he was devastated by his beloved wife Helen McCrory’s death at the age of 52 after a secret battle with breast cancer. They had been married since 2007.

Although he appears ready to embark on a new relationship with Alison, Damian kept his wedding ring firmly on during their latest outing.

The new couple’s appearance comes as Alison’s mother told MailOnline she had given the relationship her seal of approval.

Damien flashed a smile for the camera as Alison wrapped her arm tightly around his shoulders.

The frontwoman of The Kills donned a star printed blouse with a black satin pussybow tie and gold necklaces.

She wore her blonde locks straight and kept her makeup subtle opting for a feline flick of black eyeliner.

Damian opted for a black button up T-shirt and swept his red locks back from his face.

The event saw an impromptu live jam take place in the Penthouse where musicians and artists entertained the members and guests in one long live session which saw people dancing all through the night.

The House of KOKO situated at the back of the KOKO theatre and since reopening in April it has hosted spectacular shows from Arcade Fire, Jorja Smith.

It comes as Damian got the seal of approval from his new rock singer girlfriend’s mother who says she can’t wait to meet the Homeland star.

The pair met through friends while hanging out in London and have grown increasingly fond of one another, Alison’s mother Vivian, 76, has revealed.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com from her home in Florida, Vivian, 76, said: ‘I don’t know how much flak I’m going to get for all of this but of course we are excited for her.

‘They have mutual friends. I don’t know exactly how they met but I’m fine with it. If she’s happy, we are happy. I’m yet to meet him but certainly I’d like to.’

Alison from Vero Beach, is best known as a lead vocalist for the rock bands The Kills and The Dead Weather.

She got her start in music when she formed the pop-punk band Discount at the age of 17 alongside a few friends.

Discount went their separate ways in 2000 and Alison formed the band she would become most known for – The Kills – alongside British guitarist Jamie in the same year.

Alison began to mix in celebrity circles through her work relationship with Jamie, after he began dating supermodel Kate Moss.

Vivian said she was aware of the actor’s heartbreaking background story – but was less familiar with his lead roles in hit shows such as Homeland, Band of Brothers and Billions, in which Lewis played hedge-fund titan Bobby Axelrod.

‘I think I’ve seen Billions a couple of times but normally we just watch movies. I heard he has a new show coming out but I haven’t seen any of it,’ she remarked.

Alison and father-of-two Lewis were first photographed together last month at a swanky fundraising party for London’s National Gallery.

A fellow passenger who spotted the pair travelling to the event by train told The Mail on Sunday the two looked ‘100 per cent romantically involved – like they were on a hot date.’

They were seen again last week at the Serpentine Gallery’s annual summer party, one of the highlights of the British capital’s social season.

And this past weekend the loved-up pair were once more snapped at the British Formula One Grand Prix at Silverstone, with Alison taking to Instagram afterwards to write: ‘The absolute thrill. I’m still floating… at 200 miles per hour.’

Alison grew up on Florida’s east coast, where her dad Mark, 73, owns a car wholesale business appropriately named Alison Auto Brokers.

Her brother Matthew, 38, is an LA-based chef who once dated Kelly Osbourne.

Vivian said her daughter – who has performed under the stage name Baby Ruthless – was into music at ‘nine months,’ played the drums in sixth grade, and had formed her own punk band by the time she was 11 or 12.

But she insisted that Alison should not be pigeonholed as a punk rock singer and was every bit as intellectual and accomplished as Eton-educated Lewis.

‘She’s not an easy one to sum up. She’s a complicated, beautiful lady, and very intelligent,’ Vivian told DailyMail.com.

‘She’s so very talented in so many areas that it constantly surprises us. It amazes us, actually. We are very proud.’

Damian’s late wife, Peaky Blinders actress Helen, died after a secret battle with breast cancer last year.

When Helen died, Damian revealed how his late wife had urged him to find love again, telling him and their son and daughter that she wanted ‘Daddy to have lots of girlfriends.’

Damian added in the social media post: ‘She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air.’

In a moving eulogy, Lewis further revealed how his late wife had urged him to find love again, telling him, their son Gulliver, 14, and daughter Manon, 15, not to dwell upon her passing.

‘Her generosity has extended to encouraging us three to live. Live fully, take opportunities, have adventures,’ he wrote.

‘She said to us from her bed, ‘I want Daddy to have girlfriends, lots of them, you must all love again, love isn’t possessive’.

‘But you know, Damian, try at least to get through the funeral without snogging someone.’

Best known for playing gangland matriarch Polly Gray in Peaky Blinders, McCreary was also an award-winning stage actress, working with the UK’s National Theatre, the Almeida and the Donmar Warehouse and playing Lady Macbeth at Shakespeare’s Globe.

She was ‘unquestionably one of the great actors of her generation,’ said Rufus Norris, artistic director of the National
