DAN WOOTTON: King Charles must stop giving the Sussexes benefit of the doubt and remove their titles

A 59-second declaration of all-out war on the British Royal Family.

That’s the only conclusion that can be drawn from the release of the bombshell Netflix trailer for Harry and Meghan’s long-awaited and highly egregious reality show, specifically designed to derail William and Kate’s already troubled US tour.

But the movie-style preview portraying the Waleses as the evil villains in the Sussexes’ tale of woke victimhood does so much more than just that – and they know it too.

It’s confirmation that, despite the hopes of a grieving King Charles, the relationship with his youngest son and daughter-in-law is now forever smashed.

Harry couldn’t even wait for the Coronation before unleashing his series of grenades, for God’s sake.

There’s no going back after this full-throttled attack on the British monarchy, just weeks after the death of Queen Elizabeth the Great, which tastelessly is exploited in the just-released teaser, with the use of a photo of Meghan during the mourning period

There’s no going back after this full-throttled attack on the British monarchy, just weeks after the death of Queen Elizabeth the Great, which tastelessly is exploited in the just-released teaser, with the use of a photo of Meghan during the mourning period.

But it gets worse.

‘Nobody sees what’s happening behind closed doors,’ Harry says.

Cut from a shot of Meghan seemingly crying on a chair while reading a piece of news on her phone to a photo of William and Kate, with Charles and Camilla by their side, giving the camera an icy stare.

There’s no subtlety in the message: Old fashioned colonial royals bad/Modern woketopian Susssexes good.

Meghan then whimpers: ‘When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?’

Er, no actually, when your track record of deception, manipulation and truth twisting is second to none.

I’d personally much rather hear from Charles, Camilla, William and Kate, who the Sussexes know are forever gagged by the duty that comes with being king or next in line.

So Harry and Meghan can say whatever the hell they like, while belittling any response that comes via the ¿men in grey suits¿ at the Palace or the British media, two groups who they despise for telling them some home truths over the years

Perhaps the only consolation is that the late Queen doesn’t have to live through such an unfair ambush by her own flesh and blood, a subject which provided her much anguish in her final years.

I have long warned that Meghan’s public destruction of her own family, the Markle’s, was just a taster of what was to come from this highly manipulative Hollywood power player.

Now, with the unquestioning support of her husband, I have no doubt she’s coming for the Windsors, to hell with the consequences.

Montecito is ground zero in the toxic plot to bring down the Royal Family by Harry and Meghan.

Of course, they’ve had more than a little help from their Hollywood paymasters Netflix, a company which has spent the past five years attempting to sully the memory of the Queen’s reign in the mind of young Americans.

After that other TV work of fiction, Meghan’s lie-fest with Oprah Winfrey, the US, at least in Democratic states, is becoming increasingly hostile to the Royal Family, as we saw with the unfortunate smattering of boos for William and Kate at the basketball in Boston last night.

Being anti the monarchy is fast becoming a very healthy woke industry in the States, guaranteeing commentators TV slots on left-wing MSNBC and column inches in the British-hating New York Times.

It also means every piece of H&M’s propaganda is covered as fact to try and paint a picture of the Royal Family as a hotbed of racism.

Today¿s trailer was just a tiny taste of what¿s to come from the destructive Montecito moaners over the next few weeks, with the full series going to provide much ammunition to republicans, and Harry¿s tell-all autobiography Spare next month doing even more damage

Like Kate and William’s tour to the Caribbean earlier this year that became a PR disaster because of one unfortunate photo opportunity that saw them meet delighted members of the public through a barbed wire fence.

Because in the deranged bid to present the royals as racist relics, all sense of fairness goes out the window.

See the hysterical response to the unfortunate comments of the 83-year-old best friend of the late Queen, Lady Susan Hussey, who was thrown under the bus after 60 years of loyal service to appease the woke mob yesterday.

But King Charles and Prince William must be careful.

In the ensuing hysteria following each scandal, they’re making it clear that the late Queen’s never complain/never explain policy died with her.

Such an approach comes with significant risks.

Like being humiliated by Reverend Mariama White-Hammond, Boston’s chief of environment, energy and open space, who used the opening of William’s own Earthshot awards to opine that he should ‘consider the legacy of colonialism and racism’ on ‘the degradation of land and our planet’, in a clear nod to the toxic reparations debate, as he had to sit silently listening.

Rather than try and out woke Harry and Meghan, I believe Charles and William must take a much more aggressive approach.

Today’s trailer was just a tiny taste of what’s to come from the destructive Montecito moaners over the next few weeks, with the full series going to provide much ammunition to republicans, and Harry’s tell-all autobiography Spare next month doing even more damage.

So don’t sit back and accept lies to be told, especially when it comes to the existential issue of whether the Royal Family is racist, a claim angry Wills quite rightly denied on the record following the Oprah interview.

Harry and Meghan are only worth tens of millions to Hollywood and big business while they are the embodiment of the British Royal Family which should never be able to be bought

Harry and Meghan are only worth tens of millions to Hollywood and big business while they are the embodiment of the British Royal Family which should never be able to be bought

Of course, I know what all of this furore is really about: Money and lots of it.

Harry and Meghan are only worth tens of millions to Hollywood and big business while they are the embodiment of the British Royal Family which should never be able to be bought.

Enough is enough – the Sussexes can no longer be given the benefit of the doubt.

The time has come for Charles to go nuclear too by stripping his son and his wife of their royal titles.

Why on earth they would want to keep the association with an institution they so despise is beyond me.

This is going to be a testy and torrid few months for the Royal Family, but I remain comforted by the likelihood that Harry and Meghan are following in the footsteps of the disgraced Duke of Windsor, who abdicated as king, and his American divorcee wife Wallis Simpson.

In the end, the public respect royals who offer their privileged lives to the service of their people, not the betterment of themselves.
