‘I’d like to apologise… to absolutely no one’: Defiant Dane Swan announces new venture after his podcast was shut down when he made jokes about sexual assault

  •  AFL star Dane Swan announced on Tuesday he would launch another podcast
  •  His previous show was scrapped in July after he laughed about sexual assault
  • Swan’s co-star Scott Cummings was terminated from the 3AW radio station

Former AFL star Dane Swan has launched a new show, just weeks after his podcast was shut down when he made jokes about sexual assault.

The Collingwood player’s podcast was scrapped last month after he and co-star Scott Cummings laughed about sex acts on women.

The Brownlow medalist announced his latest venture on Tuesday, titled Swanny and Friends, after his first project was slammed by listeners who claimed it promoted sexual violence.

‘First of all I’d like to apologise…to absolutely nobody. We’re back,’ Swan wrote on Twitter.

Cummings apologised for the crude jokes but had his roles at the 3AW radio station terminated.

Swan’s latest project sees him alongside presenter Samantha Riches, and producer Ralph Horowitz with controversial Sam Newman appearing as the show’s first guest.

‘Here we go again. Our aim is to beat our previous record of 21 episodes. Cummo(RIP) has been replaced by Sam,’ Swan wrote on Instagram.

Swan and Cummings came under fire after they laughed about sexual behaviour including sneaking up on a woman vomiting and masturbating on another’s face.

Despite a series of backlash thrown at Swan, he remained defiant, claiming he had done nothing wrong.

‘If we had of ever said anything wrong or offensive we would of apologised but the fact is we have never have and I’ll debate anyone anywhere arguing that point,’ he tweeted in July.

‘I’d rather work at McDonalds for the rest of my life than apologise to people I don’t give a f*** about,’ Swan said in the first episode of the podcast.

Ms Riches, who jumped on board of the new podcast, wrote on her Instagram she was the ‘token female’.

‘Decided it couldn’t get any worse. I play the role of token Female & despite Women having a reputation for being bad drivers I’m here to debunk that & many other theories in an attempt to steer the ship to safe-ish waters,’ she said.
