The Masked Singer Australia judge Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes recently lifted the lid on Dannii’s exit from the franchise.

Hughesy, 51, said on his 2Day FM breakfast show on Tuesday he’d known for ‘quite some time’ that Dannii was calling it quits.

The comedian explained she was leaving due to scheduling conflicts with other TV commitments in Britain.

He also said she was busy with her fashion label.

‘Dannii revealed she was leaving The Masked Singer because of scheduling conflicts and her fashion label and her dating show she is doing in England,’ Hughesy said.

The projects mean she will have to be in Europe for the coming months, which rules out filming The Masked Singer in Australia.

Dannii said: ‘There are millions of people in the UK looking for love.

‘And I believe love is for everyone. So I am so thrilled for a gay dating show to be entering the sea of other dating shows that have existed on TV for years.’

The singer added: ‘I have been a staunch ally of the LGBTQ+ community for as long as I can remember. My close friends know that my dream job title would be Cupid.

‘So this gives me that flutter-of-love feeling inside too, just to be a part of it. Let’s hope there is love, sealed with a kiss!’

Dannii also shared a casting call on Twitter, adding: ‘Having the opportunity to be a part of this show is giving me that flutter-of-love feeling.’
