Dara Huang shows off results of her strict diet ahead of her ex’s marriage to Princess Bea next year

If you think bride-to-be Princess Beatrice is under pressure to look good on her big day, spare a thought for the groom’s ex-fiancee.

Dara Huang – mother of Bea’s stepson-to-be Wolfie – has given up bread, pasta and potatoes ahead of the Royal Wedding next year.

Dara took to Instagram last week to declare: ‘Dear carbs, I miss you so much…’

Later she took a selfie at Annabel’s in a midriff-revealing crop top, making it clear her strict diet is working.

Meanwhile, if you’re wondering why Beatrice is yet to set a date for her wedding three months after getting engaged, I may have the answer.

I gather that disagreements in the York fold over a venue are causing the Queen to resist agreeing a date.

My source says the Duke suggested that his eldest daughter, 31, walk down the aisle at Westminster Abbey, but this has been firmly ruled out.

To complicate matters, the family are facing pressure to find a date that might suit the Duchess of Cornwall.

Camilla missed Eugenie’s wedding last year because of a prior engagement – and it caused speculation that she did so because of tensions with Prince Andrew.

Although India Hicks’ luxury lifestyle business has gone under, she has good – and more importantly, wealthy – friends to support her while she’s down.

Prince Charles’ goddaughter was cheered up by £550 million financier Ian Wace and his model wife Saffron Aldridge last week, who treated her to a voyage on their £70 million yacht Alicia.

India wrote on Instagram: ‘Saffron scooped me up off the floor and gave me a very unique few days.

I was reminded of Walt Whitman’s words, “Face the sun and the shadows will fall behind you.”

Thank you Saffron.’ I wish I had friends like that…

After performing last week at the London Lifestyle Awards in a £4,000 Chanel Joan Elkayam dress, Purdy confessed: ‘It’s very sad. We were together for four and a half years.

‘I am upset but we’re still friends. Not many people know about us because he didn’t want the relationship to be in the limelight.’

In 1997, Ralph left his wife Alex Kingston for Francesca Annis.

They then split up after 11 years when he reportedly had an affair with a Romanian singer. Perhaps Purdy’s better off without him!
