Dara O’Briain has reportedly turned down a place on Strictly Come Dancing.
According to a new report, the Mock Of The Week star, 51, revealed the news over the weekend during a stand-up gig, where he insisted: ‘That will never happen’.
It’s alleged that Dara explained how he has begun using the threat of appearing on the dancing show, as a way to discipline his teenage daughter.
It has also been reported that the comic took a swipe at the show’s infamous ‘Strictly Curse’ – the show’s reputation for affair scandals.
It’s claimed he pointed out that, although the competition is produced in different countries all over the world, it’s only in Britain that ‘the celebrities f**k the dancers.’

Funnyman: It’s alleged that Dara explained how he has begun using the threat of appearing on the dancing show, as a way to discipline his teenage daughter
According to The Sun, over the weekend Dara told crowds his decision during a gig at the Paddy Power Comedy Festival in Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens.
The comic gushed about being proud of how ‘strong, powerful and fierce’ his youngest child, a 15-year-old daughter, is becoming.
He confessed that his only way to control her is with the threat of appearing in Strictly, admitting: ‘I’ve got f***ing nothing in this battle.
‘I’ve been reduced to saying ”stop it, stop it” in this disciplinary battle – ”stop it, or I will go on Strictly Come Dancing and you will watch me dance. I will dance hard and I will get to Latin week. I will cha cha cha!”.’
But then, Dara insisted: ‘I can never do the dancing show. That will never happen.’
Elsewhere over the weekend, while filming the final episode of Mock the Week, Dara reportedly poked fun at the notorious ‘Strictly Curse.’
The comic once again told how he put fear into his teenage daughter, by threatening to take a Strictly film crew into her school for her to meet his dance partner.
Dara joked: ‘I told her I’ll shout ‘hunny, look over here – watch me dance and say hello to your new mummy”.’
He added: ‘Strictly Come Dancing is everywhere in the world. But Britain is the only country in which the celebrities f**k the dancers.’

Dara married wife Susan, a surgeon, in 2006. They live in West London with their three children, one daughter (born 2008) and two sons (born 2011 and 2015).
MailOnline has contacted Dara O’Briain’s representatives for comment.
Strictly will waltz back onto on screens this year, marking it’s milestone 21st series since the show’s inception in 2004.
But with the Quicksteps and Waltzes have come the romantic rumours and inevitable breakups from couples on the show.
While some couples split while they were competing on the show, amicable or otherwise, many fell apart in the months after the glitzy lights dimmed in the famous ballroom.
