Darlinghurst: Bus passenger, 35, stabbed before search leads to arrest of a man, 19, in Sydney

Horror as bus passenger, 35, is stabbed on board before alleged knifeman,19, is arrested in a park

A bus passenger was allegedly stabbed in Sydney leading to an urgent police manhunt.

Emergency crews were called to a bus that had stopped on Flinders Street in Darlinghurst about 12.40pm Saturday where they found the 35-year-old with stab wounds. 

It is alleged the attacker was not known to the man and subsequently fled on foot, sparking a police search

The 35-year-old was treated by paramedics before being transported to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. 

Officers established a crime scene and following inquiries a 19-year-old man was arrested in nearby Belmore Park in Haymarket about 1.15pm.

A knife was also seized and the 19-year-old is assisting officers with inquiries.
