Startling footage has been captured of the moment a Queensland man crashed into multiple cars outside a school zone after driving at 142km/h.

An officer on a motorbike first spotted the man’s white Ford Focus at Jones Hill near Gympie, two hours north of Brisbane, about 3.10pm on Tuesday.

Police allege he was driving 42km/h over the 100km/h speed limit on Mary Valley Rd before turning onto McIntosh Creek Rd which includes the school zone.

Dashcam footage shows the Ford Focus hitting a car it overtakes, sending it up on its side and briefly balancing on two wheels as glass shatters on the asphalt.

A young child in school uniform can be seen walking on the footpath along the side of the road.

Fortunately no one was injured in the incident.

The Ford Focus can be seen going up on two wheels as it glances against another car it tries to overtake
