Daughter tells dad Jabari Paulk he did her hair wrong in viral video

An unfailingly polite five-year-old didn’t throw a fit when her dad messed up her hair. She didn’t get annoyed, or even tell him bluntly that his styling skills were not as good as mom’s. In fact, she complimented him — and then let him down as gently as possible.

Father-of-three Jabari Paulk, 27, was at home in Germany with his five-year-old daughter Taylor when the two had to head outside. So Jabari, who is originally from Georgia, quickly tried to put Taylor’s hair in pigtails. But didn’t get the look quite right.

That’s when Taylor launched into a truly precious explanation of what he got wrong — all the while repeating unconvincingly that she liked it that way.

Too cute: Father-of-three Jabari Paulk, 27, got a sweet talking-to from his five-year-old daughter Taylor after he gave her a lopsided updo

Jabari was home alone with Taylor while he wife and five-month-old son were at a doctor’s appointment. It was time to pick up the couple’s oldest child from school, so Jabari got Taylor ready for the five-minute walk.

‘But Taylor’s hair wasn’t done and was kind of all over the place, so I decided to try and make it look neat and give her, what I thought at the time, were very good ponytails,’ he told Daily Mail Online.

‘She then checked herself out in the mirror and took exception to how uneven or lopsided the ponytails were,’ he added.

Jabari took out his phone to record what happened next, catching his five-year-old explaining for almost a minute — as sweetly as possible — that he doesn’t know how to do hair.

‘What a polite way to tell me “Dad you f***ed up my hair,”‘ Jabari wrote on Twitter, sharing the video — which has been viewed over 5 million times since April 27.

Heartbreaker: Though Taylor kept repeating, unconvincingly, that she 'liked' her hair the way her dad did it, it was actually wrong

She seemed to be trying quite hard to spare his feelings

In the clip, Taylor looks up at her dad with a sweet-as-sugar smile on her face, employing a tone that makes it clear that she’s trying to let him down gently.

‘You did it like this, and they’re supposed to be up like this, which they’re not, so…’ she says, gesturing to her uneven pigtails.

‘I don’t think you have to redo it. I still like it. It’s just that…’ she says, smacking her lips and putting her hands on her hips.

She pauses dramtically as she thinks carefully about choosing her next words.

‘I like it, it’s just that it’s wrong,’ she says, leading her dad to erupt in laughter ont he other side of the camera.

‘Cause one time, mommy got it right, like she did it up like I wanted it. And you just did it all ratchet,’ she says, making her dad laugh even more.

The fix-all: Taylor's mom was out ¿ and though she eventually came home and fixed her daughter's hair, the little girl decided to go out with a hat instead

‘I don’t know what to say, but I still like the hair style,’ she adds, still unconvincing — but adorably trying to spare her dad’s feelings.

Dad certainly didn’t take offense. In fact, Jabari said he found the whole thing very funny — as have the half a million people who’ve liked the video, and the thousands who have commented.

‘”I like it, it’s just wrong” — she’s so precious, that has me cracking up,’ wrote one.

‘You tried and that’s all that matters. I’m sure she will grow up to appreciate and love you,’ wrote another.

As for Taylor’s hair, Jabari said he ‘knew I messed up’ once his daughter pointed out how lopsided the pigtails were, but mom soon came home to save the day

‘My wife actually ended up coming home and fixing it,’ he told Daily Mail Online. ‘I’m a little inexperienced in the hair styling department.’

He also said that Taylor has always been sweet and shows that she cares about the happiness of others.

‘She’s always been a remarkable kid who was always ahead of things. She was speaking in full sentences already before the age of one. She walked really early as well. She’s always been that well spoken-kid you see in the video. It’s like she’s beyond her years and she hasn’t even begun kindergarten yet.’
