David and Victoria Beckham ‘keen to put on a united front by throwing £30,000 New Year’s Eve party’

David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly throwing an epic £30,000 New Year’s Eve party.

The former footballer, 43, and Spice Girl, 44, are said to have invited twenty of their closest friends and family to a showstopping bash, held at their Cotsworld estate, according to The Sun.

It appears that the pair, who were rocked by divorce rumours earlier this year, are keen on putting the speculation behind them, as a source revealed: ‘David was keen to put on a united front, and show the world they’re happy after a tough few months.’

Ending their year on a high note, David and Victoria are said to be organising a lavish party to showcase just how strong they are.

Speaking of the impending festivities, it was continued: ‘It will be a child-friendly affair, but that’s not to say they haven’t gone all out on the champagne and vintage wine front – it’s no expense spared.’

According to the publication, the married pair are spending ‘£10,000 on catering, £5,000 on booze, £4,000 on fireworks and £4,000 on security.’

The fashion designer is also said to be splashing out £5,000 on her outfits for the occasion, including a dress for her seven-year-old daughter Harper.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for David and Victoria for further comment.

In September, David and Victoria addressed the state of their 19-year marriage in an interview with Vogue, having been plagued by split rumours in recent months.

Cutting to the chase, Spice Girl-cum-fashion designer Victoria admitted persistent speculation regarding the state of their marriage comes with the territory.

‘People have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years, so David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense and just carrying on as normal,’ she said.

‘But these things have a wider effect on the people around us, and that’s unfair.’

Talking about brand Beckham, Victoria said: ‘We both realise that we are stronger together than we are as individuals. Would either of us be in the position that we are in now had we not met and been together all those years ago? It’s all about the family unit.

‘We are much stronger – the six of us – than we would be if we were individuals. We respect that family bond and that is key.’

Back in June, the Beckhams were suddenly forced to vehemently deny speculation that they were heading for a divorce.

It later emerged that during this turbulent time Victoria sat down with her four children to reassure them about the state of their parents’ marriage.

‘They sat the children down and addressed these horrific, hurtful whispers,’ a friend of the Beckhams told The Sun recently. ‘Both David and Victoria are very transparent with the kids to ensure they hear things directly from them – and not from the playground.

‘After the latest furore, they once again took the decision to be open and honest with them, reassuring them Daddy is not a cheat.’

The source added that while the couple of 21 years laughed off the rumours publicly, they took it ‘much more seriously’ at home.

At the time of the divorce rumours – which seemed to involve speculation about David’s faithfulness to his wife – Jo Milloy, a spokesman for Victoria, told the Daily Mail the gossip was ‘absolute nonsense’.

The couple, who began dating in early 1997, share four children – Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and seven year-old Harper.
