David Cassidy cut his daughter Katie out of his will

David Cassidy cut his actress daughter Katie out of his will, it has been revealed.

Before he died, the 67-year-old specified in legal documents that all of his remaining fortune should be left to his son Beau.

Katie, 31, whose mother was never married to the singer, was not to receive any of it.

The documents were obtained by The Blast on Wednesday. They were written in 2004 and have not been changed since.

‘It is my specific intent not to provide any benefits hereunder to Katherine Evelyn Cassidy and/or any descendant of Katherine Evelyn Cassidy,’ it reads.

David Cassidy’s 2004 will, which was not changed before his death last month, explicitly excludes his daughter Katie

Instead, all of Cassidy’s remaining money -$150,000 in assets – was given to his 26-year-old son Beau. He left any music memorabilia to his half-siblings.

Cassidy is never thought to have been a millionaire.

The highest net worth figure reported for him is $500,000.

Katie, who appears in the series Arrow and also starred in Gossip Girl, had a complicated relationship with her father which involved them being estranged and briefly reunited.

She previously told how his last words to her were: ‘So much wasted time.’ Earlier this year, David said the pair had fallen out of touch again.

‘I’ve never had a relationship with her. I wasn’t her father. I was her biological father but I didn’t raise her.

‘She has a completely different life,’ he told People in February.

The pair were pictured together in 2007 during one of their few moments of closeness when he took her to the 9th annual Family Television Awards.

In the same People interview, he gushed over Beau.

‘He’s just one of the best people you’ll ever meet in your life and it’s that that I’m proud of,’ he said.

Beau is Cassidy’s only child through marriage. The singer was married to his mother Sue between 1991 and 2016. Katie’s mother Sherry is a singer.

She was born in 1986, years before Cassidy married his wife.

Cassidy’s financial woes were well documented before his death as was his battle with alcoholism.

Two years before he died, he sold his South Florida home and most of the furniture inside it at auction.

In the months before his death, Cassidy revealed he was battling dementia.

He died in hospital in November surrounded by his siblings. It is not clear if Katie was there.

The Partridge Family aired from 1970-74 and was a fictional variation of the ’60s performers the Cowsills, intended at first as a vehicle for Shirley Jones, the Oscar winning actress and Cassidy’s stepmother.

Jones played Shirley Partridge, a widow with five children with whom she forms a popular act that travels on a psychedelic bus.

The cast also featured Cassidy as eldest son and family heartthrob Keith Partridge; Susan Dey, later of LA Law fame, as sibling Laurie Partridge and Danny Bonaduce as sibling Danny Partridge.

It was an era for singing families – the Osmonds, the Jacksons.

The Partridge Family never cracked the top 10 in TV ratings, but the recordings under their name, mostly featuring Cassidy, Jones and session players, produced real-life musical hits and made Cassidy a real-life musical superstar.
