Harrowing: David Tennant’s wife Georgia has revealed that their two-month-old baby was rushed to hospital last month with a fever and shared a picture from the hospital bed

Alongside a picture of her baby attached to tubes in a hospital bed, she penned:  ‘Last Wednesday my NHS GP sent my baby to A&E after spiking a high temperature.

‘Eyes rolling at this seemingly over the top reaction, reluctantly I trudged along, mildly coughing child in tow, to my nearest NHS hospital. We were seen within 10 minutes.

‘After being checked over by 2 ‘over the top’ NHS nurses and another 2 ‘over the top’ NHS doctors, the now slightly lethargic baby was admitted.’

Haunting: Georgia (pictured with husband David) admitted that she would be haunted forever after her newborn was rushed into A&E and hospitalised for six days

Georgia continued: ‘What ensued over the subsequent 6 days will haunt me forever but now back home, on the sofa, my baby tube free and pink again I take away one thing; our NHS is magic.

‘An underfunded, understaffed and under threat sort of magic. Full of amazing people whose ‘over the topness’ puts people back on sofas together.

‘I can’t thank you enough NHS and from now on my family will do all it can to help keep you together. Just as you did for us. #nhs @nhsmillion @cwpluscharity [sic]’.

Georgia and David, 48, have kept the details on their newborn to a minimum, sharing no photos of the baby’s face, or revealing their sex.

The couple announced the birth on October 13 with an Instagram post that poked fun at David’s role in Amazon Prime series Good Omens.

Georgia uploaded a picture of her husband leaving hospital with their newborn, side by side with a picture of David’s co-star, Michael Sheen, who welcomed his daughter last month.

She captioned the image: ‘An Angel, a Demon and a couple of babies. ‘What could possibly go wrong?’

The caption referred to the actors’ role in Good Omens, where David played devil Crowley, and Michael starred as angel Aziraphale, who form an unlikely friendship in their bid to stop the Antichrist.

Georgia and David are also parents to 17-year-old Ty, Olive, eight, Wilfred, six, and Doris, four.
