Earlier this month, Davina revealed having children put a huge strain on her marriage with Matthew, with her taking revenge on him when their daughter Holly arrived.

The television presenter admitted she wanted to ‘punish’ him by keeping him up during their first-born’s night-time feeds, leading to the pair sleeping in separate beds when they had Tilly and Chester.

Speaking on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, she said: ‘I remember him going to the pub and I was going “Oh I will come… oh no I won’t the baby’s upstairs.

‘With Holly I wanted to punish Matthew in some way and keep him up. So we slept in the same bed and with the feeds I would turn the light on and change the nappy.

She continued: ‘You know- bedside light, do the feed, change nappy and think, well I am very sorry if you are asleep.’

‘With the second and the third one we’d fall asleep in the bed together and with the midnight feed he’d go off and sleep in the spare room, which sounds selfish. Guy gets to go to sleep.

Before adding: ‘But if one gets some sleep then they can make tea or whatever for the other one.’

Davina also revealed she has been ‘brutally honest’ with her three children; Holly, 16, Tilly, 14, and Chester, 11, about her secret past.

‘I’ve had to be very honest about my past with the children – especially now they have access to the internet,’ she said. ‘Actually, I had to be brutally honest quite early on when I thought other kids might talk to them about it.

‘They grew up with “Mummy’s going to a meeting” – they just didn’t know it was a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. They were all really very accepting. They’d say, ”We thought it was something like that. Is that why you don’t drink?”

The former Big Brother presenter has spoken openly about battling with drugs in her late teens, and previously said a friend was the one who pushed her to get clean.
