DC parents meet girl saved by their daughter’s organs

The parents of a woman who died in a car crash and donated her organs to help save five lives came face-to-face with one of the recipients in an emotional meeting.

Samantha Justice, 20, was killed over a year ago after being hit by a truck on the Capital Beltway in Washington D.C.

Over the weekend Samantha’s parents, Ray and Angela, met with Jackie Price, 25, who received Samantha’s lungs in a transplant operation on June 21, 2016, NBC Washington reported.

Jackie, who has suffered with lung disease her entire life, said: ‘Her lungs continue to breathe through me. I know every day I have here is because of Samantha.’

Angela told Jackie: ‘I know there’s a part of my daughter in there, in you. You’ve got a beautiful soul.’

The touching meeting began with Jackie saying she couldn’t put into words her feelings: ‘I don’t really know how to put into words, it’s like appreciative, it’s not even close to a word.’

Jackie revealed she has been able to go back to work and is currently navigating her new life, thanks to the lifesaving transplant.

Angela recalled the heartbreaking moment she received a call from the police the morning of her daughter’s fateful crash.

‘I got the phone-call, it’s about 4:30 in the morning, from the Maryland State Police,’ she emotionally told the camera.

‘The first words out of my mouth were “is she gonna make it?” he said no ma’am.’

Angela said about her daughter: ‘She was just the sweetest, sweetest young girl. If she saw somebody on the street, she would stop and give them whatever she had.’
