Declan Rice forces the BBC to apologise TWICE for bad language during X-rated interview

Declan Rice’s X-rated comments celebrating West Ham’s Europa Conference League success forced the BBC to apologise for bad language during their interview with the Hammers captain.

West Ham stars toasted their European success with an open-top bus parade around London’s East End as thousands of supporters turned out to join in the celebrations.

A weary-eyed Rice had been out partying in Prague with his team-mates late after Wednesday’s victory over Fiorentina, but showed no signs of being hungover as he was interviewed while wearing the club’s home strip and a winner’s medal.

The 24-year-old England midfielder showed his passion for the club that he looks set to leave in the summer, by describing West Ham as ‘f****** massive’.

‘I’m lost for words’, exclaimed Rice while being interviewed outside Stratford Town Hall.

‘You hear Billy Bonds, Bobby Moore and now to lift that trophy for this football club… it’s not hit me yet to be honest but it is so f****** special. I’m lost for words it’s just incredible.’

His first use of the f-bomb prompted the broadcaster to quickly apologise for the pre-watershed language, before Rice then let rip with another piece of emotive language. 

‘Two years in a row we’ve had European competitions, they travel all round the world to watch us, pre-season, Europe and to be honest I didn’t expect this many people here tonight.

‘But it is West Ham, we’re f****** massive, ain’t we?! Yes!’

Rice was released by Chelsea at 14 and since then has been adopted by the Hammers faithful as one of their own who have watched his rise from academy talent to trophy-lifting captain.

The midfielder is braced for a summer departure with Arsenal planning to submit a £90m bid for the box-to-box star in the coming days.

On Thursday, club chairman David Sullivan confirmed that Rice will leave in the upcoming transfer window after rejecting a renewed contract offer.

‘I think it has to be [his last game]. We promised him he could go. He set his heart on going. 

‘You can’t ask for a man who has committed more to us this season. In due course, he has to get on and we have to get a replacement – or several replacements.’

Meanwhile, Hammers boss David Moyes is set for crunch talks regarding his position  at the club on Friday where he will meet with Sullivan.
