Declan Rice is open to joining Bayern Munich this summer, according to a report.

Rice is set to leave West Ham this summer and has a host of clubs lining up for his signature, with Arsenal and Chelsea among those to be linked with a move for the midfielder.

The Hammers captain has become one of the best midfielders in world football in recent times, and is destined to depart for what is judged to be a bigger club with more chance of winning major trophies.

His last game will likely be the Conference League final against Fiorentina when he will have the chance to list his first major trophy as captain and the club’s first major trophy since 1965.

According to Sky Sport, Bayern could be ahead in the race to sign Rice after manager Thomas Tuchel held talks with the England man.

There were reportedly talks over the phone a few days ago between Rice and Tuchel, who led Bayern to a dramatic Bundesliga title win over the weekend.

The chat is said to have been positive are have encouraged the German champions to step up their approaches for the 24-year-old.

Though Rice is likely to leave, West Ham won’t be bullied into selling him on the cheap and he has a year left on his deal with an option for one more.

He’s likely to cost around £100million to join another club, with Arsenal recently fearing being priced out of a move.

Mail Sport revealed in January that Mikel Arteta had made Rice his main transfer target and the Gunners remain interested with Granit Xhaka having left the club.

Rice has spoken openly about his ambition to play in the Champions League, which would boost the Gunners’ – and Bayern’s – prospects of landing the star having qualified for next year’s competition.

The Gunners are, meanwhile, claimed to have concerns that interest from Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Man United could allow West Ham to further increase their demands.
