The Australian Defence Force has reportedly launched an investigation into service personnel with suspected links to outlaw motorcycle gangs.
About 50 serving military personnel are being closely monitored by a team of investigators who have been assembled to gather intelligence on each of their ‘targets’.
Social media accounts are being trawled as part of the investigation to identify any possible links to bikie gangs, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

‘If they find a picture on Facebook of a soldier with a Bandido or something, (the investigators) will follow up,’ a source told the publication.
The investigation has been running for about two months and has reportedly already identified links between known drug trafficking networks and military personnel.
A Defence spokesman would not comment on the investigation but said personnel who have committed criminal acts face administrative action, which could include termination of their service.
‘Defence has a zero-tolerance for personnel who engage in unlawful or criminal activity, or engage, promote or espouse behaviours that are inconsistent with Defence values,’ the spokesman said.
The investigation reportedly follows warnings from the The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.
In 2014, a Defence directive advised personnel of the risks of associating with organisations or groups who engage in criminal activity.
