Delta Goodrem announces engagement to longtime boyfriend Matthew Copley while on holiday in Malta: ‘My best friend asked me to marry him’

Delta Goodrem is officially engaged to longtime boyfriend Matthew Copley.

The singer shared the news to Instagram Thursday evening along with a loved-up photo of the couple on holiday in Malta.

In the image Delta is seen tenderly embracing Matthew in front of a stunning seaside vista, as the sun sets in the foreground. 

She appears to be holding a celebratory glass of bubbles for the occasion. 

‘My best friend asked me to marry him,’ she giddily captioned the image, alongside a ring emoji.

The blonde beauty has dated her fair share of famous faces, from Nick Jonas and Brian McFadden to tennis great Mark Philippoussis.

In 2018, she told InStyle Australia that she’d made a ‘conscious decision’ to keep her love life private moving forward.

‘I made a [choice] that I’m not even going to comment “yes” or “no” … I’ve said nothing for three or four years,’ she stated.

As a result, Delta and Matt never appear on the red carpet together and the Born to Try hitmaker refuses to go into specifics about her relationship in interviews.

She finally broke her silence in February of this year in Australian Women’s Weekly, confessing, ‘He’s my guitarist, I met him through music’.

‘It’s incredible to be on stage with him because he’s so talented. We really are a team. He’s my best friend, he’s kind and a beautiful human being,’ she continued.

While Matthew is best known for working as his girlfriend’s guitarist, he’s also worked with some other big names in the industry, including Conrad Sewell.
